Concerns of Police Survivors, Inc. provides resources to assist in the rebuilding of the lives of surviving families of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty as determined by Federal criteria. Furthermore, COPS provides training to law enforcement agencies on survivor victimization issues and educates the public of the need to support the law enforcement profession and its survivors.

It’s time for the 4th Annual Central Virginia C.O.P.S. Christmas Party When: Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. Where: Stafford County’s New Public Safety Building We will again provide the main dishes and drinks but we ask that families provide a side dish for about 8 people to enjoy. Any volunteers to help set up for the party can meet me around 3 p.m. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

As always, our annual picnic is right around the corner & it's time to start preparing!! We are all set for the same location as last year, Dunncroft Castlepoint Park off Francistown Road here in Henrico County. As in the past, we have set it for Father's Day weekend since we are typically in DC for Mother's Day weekend and can show them support while we are there. This way we can show support for our fathers without a child and for our children now without fathers. Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 14th from 3 p.m. til dark!!

In order to better plan for our Chapter meetings, we thought we would send out the info for this year’s meetings so that you may plan ahead for upcoming meetings. As mentioned before, we have decided to change the format of meetings a little bit so that you may plan which meetings you may want to attend. We now have three types of meetings: Business, Social and Support.

This Saturday's Support Meeting will be held at Virginia State Police Division One Headquarters at 9300 Brook Road, Glen Allen, Virginia 23060.  The meeting will start at 1:00 p.m. and typically lasts 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
